Manchester City kicked off their Premier League season with a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion at The Amex Stadium on Saturday with goals from Sergio Agüero and Lewis Dunk (own goal). It was a dominant performance from the Blues, who showed patience to break down a tough Brighton defense and eventually found the goals to get the win.

After a few days of voting, your player ratings are in! For the first week of the season, your Man of the Match will be decided by the highest rated player according to your votes, because I’m a dummy and forgot to add a vote for MOTM. Starting with the Everton game next Monday, there’ll be an option to choose a MOTM, but for the Brighton game, the highest average of votes gets it.

So let’s move on to the results...

Man of the Match: Kyle Walker (8.04)

I don’t know if that would be the vote in terms of percentage, but given how high Walker’s average was according to your votes, it’s clear you’d vote for him regardless of the system. And with good reason: Walker was fantastic against Brighton, constantly linking up with Kevin De Bruyne and providing great attacking support on the right flanks. Walker will get even better with time to adapt, but his start was encouraging.
