While the world of football wonders where Kylian Mbappé is going, they forget about the other incredible prospect who could become the best striker in the world in a few years.

Manchester City young star Gabriel Jesus is only 20 years old and has been in England for just eight months, three of those spent recovering from injury. But we didn’t need many appearances (just 10, in fact) to know that we’re talking about a truly special talent, and a player who might become a Premier League superstar as early as this season.

Gabriel Jesus has got it all: fantastic individual skills, incredible finishing ability, an unstoppable work rate and a giant heart that allows him to not only survive the physicality of English football, but actually thrive in it. Jesus scored 7 goals in his first season, which doesn’t sound like much but is enough to excite every City fan.

When Gabriel made an incredibly fast start and instantly replaced Sergio Agüero in the starting lineup, that created a problem: Agüero felt threatened by the new boy and contemplated leaving the club this summer, and for weeks we thought they couldn’t play together. Jesus got injured and didn’t come back until the last few weeks of the season, which caused the speculation to die down.

The two seem like good friends now, and Pep Guardiola has found a way to have them play together often and shine equally. City looked their most dangerous last season with both Agüero and Jesus around the box, and we’ll certainly see that situation many times in the upcoming campaign.

As Gabriel adapts more and more to European football and develops his game, there is no reason to believe he can’t be a truly great Premier League player this season. City play in a way that will give both Agüero and Jesus many chances to score, and both of them are great finishers. Jesus is also able to create for others with smart assists, and his constant movement will create space for midfielders and full-backs.

Jesus is also a willing defender who doesn’t mind chasing opposing players all over the pitch and recovering the ball in dangerous areas. He will work his tail off to get the ball back and will still have the energy to be close to the goal and take the chances that come his way. He always seems to be at the right place at the right time, and he doesn’t miss a lot of chances. To sum up: he’ll score a lot of goals, but that’s not the only reason why he’ll have such a big impact on the team. He can do so many other stuff that the numbers won’t show, but will be major factors in City’s success.

His easy smile, his humble personality and his hard-working attitude will easily win over anybody. His actual talents on the pitch are undeniable, and he’s now even more familiar with Guardiola’s style and his teammates. Gabriel Jesus is young, he’s determined, he’s talented and works harder than anyone.

Do not be surprised if Gabriel Jesus is a proven Premier League superstar in 9 months’ time. He really can be that good.
