New City Football Group club Girona FC has been receiving several players from Manchester City on loan in recent years, and four more have been added to the long list in just 24 hours for their upcoming season in La Liga.

The first to be temporarily shipped away was right-back Pablo Maffeo, in two different occasions.. Many expected the young Spaniard to remain at the club as a backup this season with the squad a big short on players in the full-back positions, but with Kyle Walker, Danilo and Benjamin Mendy joining the club this summer, Pep Guardiola decided it would be best to send Maffeo back to Girona.

The next player to be sent to Girona was Aleix García. The Spanish midfielder has put on some great performances in his sporadic appearances, but a loan move is definitely best for his development. He featured in a few Cup matches and smaller league games last season, and the decision to loan him out will give him some good playing time.

The third player to join Girona was new signing Douglas Luiz. The Brazilian midfielder recently signed with City this summer, and many fans had never heard of him before. However, the youngster is supposed to be a great talent. It will be exciting to see him display his talents in Spain.

The final player loaned to Girona today was Marlos Moreno. The Colombian winger was signed last year, and he is now going on his second loan spell. His first was not as successful as he did not get many minutes on the pitch for Deportivo La Coruña, but hopefully he will see more success at Girona.

City have shown that they take player development seriously, and supporters will hope that the four youngsters will perform well in the upcoming season so they can fight for a spot in the team in the coming years.
