Man City, Madrid give up on Mbappé
Turns out this transfer market is so crazy that even the richest teams in Europe do not want to spend that much money. This is the case with AS Monaco star Kylian Mbappé, the hottest prospect in football, who was linked with Real Madrid and Manchester City this week. But according to reports in Spain, officials from both clubs met after the friendly between the two teams in Los Angeles and decided that 180 million euros is too big of a transfer fee, even for someone so special like Mbappé. It seems like the young French phenom will stay at Monaco this season and will move away next year when the prices should come down a bit.
City reject offer for Delph
According to The Sun, Man City recently rejected a £10 million offer from Stoke City for midfielder Fabian Delph. West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle have made bids as well, but City are holding on to a £14 million asking price for Delph. Until that price is met, the Englishman will stay at the club, but if no team makes an improved offer until the end of the window, we could see Delph leaving for £10 million or less before Deadline Day on August 31st.
Jadon Sancho to Dortmund?
17-year-old striker Jadon Sancho is perhaps the biggest talent in the Manchester City Academy today, but the young Englishman is not part of the squad for the United States tour and contract renewal issues could mean the end of Sancho’s early career as a Cityzen. Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal are the biggest candidates to land the player, and according to a report from Kicker magazine, Sancho was in Germany recently and is keen on joining BVB.
