Pep wants another center-back

According to ESPN’s Jonathan Smith, Pep Guardiola wants a replacement for the departing Aleksandar Kolarov, who has joined AS Roma. The Serbian became a center-back under Pep, and with only four central defenders in the squad right now Guardiola wants a fifth to maintain depth in the position. Pep trusts that Vincent Kompany will remain healthy throughout the new season and thus doesn’t exactly want a big name, just a solid player who can provide depth and play when necessary.

Roma interested in Nasri

According to the Mail, after signing Kolarov on Saturday AS Roma are interested in buying another Man City star: Samir Nasri, who is on the list of players to be sold this summer. Roma’s new sporting director Monchi signed Nasri on loan to Sevilla last season, and he could be looking to reunite with the Frenchman again. City want a permanent deal this time, and Monchi would be willing to make a transfer happen.

Mendy and Danilo done deals

According to multiple reports from multiple reliable sources in multiple countries, City completed two new signings on Saturday: Danilo has left Real Madrid and will join City on a £26 million transfer, while City and AS Monaco have finally agreed a £52 million deal for Benjamin Mendy. The two full-backs could be announced over the next few hours and would be available to debut for City in the next International Champions Cup match against Real Madrid.
