It looks like Manchester City have indeed signed another right-back following the arrival of Kyle Walker. After a report on Tuesday that the Sky Blues overcame Chelsea in the race to sign Real Madrid right-back Danilo, we now have another report from the same source saying it’s a done deal.
Gianluca Di Marzio from Sky Italia says that City and Madrid have agreed a deal that will make Danilo a Citizen in the upcoming days. City will pay the Champions League winners a €30 million fee, with €5 million in performance bonuses to be added for the duration of Danilo’s five-year contract with the Sky Blues.
The deal could be announced on Wednesday or Thursday after medicals and contract signing in Manchester, and the Brazilian would join his teammates in the United States this weekend.
It looked as though Danilo was set to join Chelsea, but City came in and got the second right-back Pep Guardiola wanted. Good business? Time will tell.
