After weeks of speculation and anxiety, Manchester City fans can be excited about the club’s newest signing.
Kyle Walker has joined the Sky Blues after undergoing medicals and signing a five-year contract on Friday. Walker has been one of the Premier League’s top full-backs and helped Tottenham Hotspur finish in second place last season. The English international adds extreme pace and fantastic defensive skills to the City backline while providing support as one of the best offensive right-backs in England.
City will pay Tottenham a record £50 million (£5 million of those are add-ons) for Walker. The club will now hope to complete the signing of AS Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy, and if the Frenchman joins the club this weekend he’ll fly together with Walker and the whole squad to the United States for a preseason tour.
WELCOME, KYLE!
