After losing Dani Alves, Manchester City did not waste any time in making sure that their top right-back target will join them this summer. According to Matt Law of the Telegraph, the Citizens have met the asking price of Tottenham Hotspur and are very close to signing Kyle Walker this summer.
Tottenham have asked for £50 million since the beginning, and City have finally agreed to pay that figure in the last round of negotiations. The Mail suggests City will pay £45 million up front, with £5 million in performance bonuses to be added based on productivity in the next few seasons.
As soon as an agreement is reached, Walker will fly to Manchester for medicals and contract signing. If all of this happens this week, Walker will join the Sky Blues in the United States tour.
We finally have a great right-back joining City in a long, long, long, long time. Here’s hoping this is announced soon before PSG tries to hijack it.
