Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart is very close to joining West Ham United on a season-long loan deal, according to a report from the Telegraph.

City were reluctant to loan Hart given their desire to sell the England international this summer to fund their spending spree. Having already paid part of Hart’s wages during his loan at Torino, City are not interested in paying more money while he plays somewhere else, but they don’t really have a choice.

Hart is on very high wages for a goalkeeper, and no other team is willing to spend on a transfer fee as well as his salary. West Ham will have an option to sign Hart on a permanent transfer next season, and if it all goes well, City will finally get rid of a very expensive player that Pep Guardiola doesn’t want.

Here’s hoping that Éderson works so we don’t miss Hart again while he makes some amazing saves at West Ham.
