Manchester City are in the middle of a massive spending spree in the second summer under Pep Guardiola. While speculating and obsessing over every incoming transfer for City is fun, supporters should also take not of the expected departures from the Etihad this summer. Veteran midfielder Samir Nasri, who has won two Premier League titles with City, could be off to China according to a report from Foot Mercato.
Nasri is said to be drawing serious interest from the Chinese Super League, especially club Shanghai Shenua where former Sunderland boss Gus Poyet currently works. After a strong season on loan at Spanish club Sevilla, Nasri might be off to a new club over the summer. The 29-year-old could be allowed to leave for €14 million and could certainly be offered a lucrative weekly wage by Shanghai.
Should Nasri join Shanghai Shenhua he would be linking up with former City teammate (and fellow Premier League champion) Carlos Tevez. The Argentine is on an astonishing £615,000-a-week wages, so Nasri may be made an offer too tempting to refuse.
As we close in on the official opening of the summer transfer window it remains to be seen if an official bid will be launched amidst the reported interest.
