We're now getting closer to a crucial Premier League match for both Manchester City and Crystal Palace, who face off at the Etihad on Saturday's lunchtime kickoff. The two managers have to deal with injuries to key players, but both will be able to field strong teams.
Here's a prediction of each team's probable starting lineups, as well as your choice for City's team!
MANCHESTER CITY
Pep Guardiola said in his pre-match press conference that Sergio Agüero and John Stones couldn't recover from injury in time, but David Silva is in contention despite taking part in just two training session this week. Claudio Bravo is out for the season, so Willy Caballero will be the goalkeeper for the final for games.
Vincent Kompany is healthy again and will definitely start at the back, and we could see the return of Aleksandar Kolarov to the lineup to add height and physicality to deal with Palace's aerial threats. Jesús Navas is set to keep his place at right-back, which is a surprise given that both Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta are ready to play. Gaël Clichy should start at left-back, which is probably not good news since he'll have to deal with Zaha, one of the most talented players in the league.
In midfield, Fabian Delph will look to get a surprise start but it's likely that Yaya Touré returns to the lineup alongside Fernandinho and Kevin De Bruyne, with Silva on the bench. The front three will be young, full of pace, energy and goals as Leroy Sané, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus will start together up front. These three played fantastic football together for about three or four games before Jesus got injured, so we've already seen what they can do.
Predicted XI: Caballero; Navas, Kompany, Kolarov, Clichy; Fernandinho, Touré; Sterling, De Bruyne, Sané; G.Jesus
Bitter and Blue XI (4-3-3): Caballero; Navas, Kompany, Otamendi, Kolarov; De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Touré; Sterling, G.Jesus, Sané
CRYSTAL PALACE
Sam Allardyce doesn't have a lot of options thanks to a crazy amount of injuries happening all at the same time, especially on the defensive part of the team. Mamadou Sakho, James Tomkins and captain Scott Dann are all out, so Martin Kelly and Damien Delaney will start as central defenders.
Palace's biggest threat is up front, with Wilfried Zaha, Andros Townsend and Christian Benteke. All three have the pace and the ability to cause City plenty of problems, so look for them to start and give Kompany and Kolarov a tough day at the office.
Predicted XI: Hennessey; Ward, Kelly, Delaney, van Aanholt; McArthur, Milivojevic; Zaha, Puncheon, Townsend; Benteke
