The summer is almost here, and plenty of Manchester City players have expiring contracts. And one of them, a true club legend, is not staying for next season.
Legendary full-back Pablo Zabaleta has informed the club his decision to not sign a new contract, and he's ready to move on. His new destination could be West Ham United, who have reportedly agreed a 3-year deal with Zabaleta's agent.
Pablo has played for nine years in the City shirt, making 332 appearances, scoring 12 goals and winning four trophies. Zabaleta was a captain many times during Vincent Kompany's absence, and has always put his body on the line. His passion and tenacity made him one of the most popular players in City's history, and we'll never forget him.
Zabaleta will likely be part of City's last home game of the season, on Tuesday against West Bromwich Albion. He'll have a chance to say goodbye to the Etihad faithful, and it'll certainly be an emotional night.
Thanks for the memories, Zaba. We'll always love you.
