Manchester City vs Manchester United -- Player Ratings

In a game that was riddled with misplaced passes and errors, it is tough to find too many positives from this game... except for maybe the fact that United didn't take 3 points away and jump into the 4th spot. All in all, United have a tough remaining schedule, and for that reason, I think Mourinho's tactics this game were cowardly. I personally feel the draw feels like two points dropped. However, one positive to take away was that it was a decent performance defensively. Minus a couple of mistakes from Bravo and a free-kick United really had no clear-cut chances. Credit to Vinny and Otamendi who look like a real defensive partnership.

We definitely need to improve on our finishing though. Like Pep said, we need to score more.... Let's take a look at how the players performances fared.

Claudio Bravo --6

While he almost really screwed City over with an errant pass to Mkhitaryan, he was suprisingly calm and reassured up until he got injured. Other than a couple of saves he didn't have too much to do.

Pablo Zabaleta -- 7.5

Zabaleta hasn't seen too much of the field as of late with Jesus Navas taking right back duties. Nonetheless, he didn't look like he lacked the energy or the decision making tonight. While he looked somewhat rusty in the first half, he was always willing to go forward and offered some help for Sterling. Minus a couple of times, Zabaleta dealt decently well with Martial on he Left-Wing. His performance today might give Pep enough to play him this weekend.

Vincent Kompany -- 8.5

Kompany's THIRD game in a row. Let that sink in. In a game that United were only going to be deadly on the counter and on set pieces, Kompany dealt very well with the likes of Martial, Rashford, and Mkhitaryan. He didn't have that much of defending to do in the second half, but did pretty well on the ball and made a number of crunching tackles to halt United's terrible attempts at a counter attack. He was rock-solid in the back, and I hope he continues to play. We need him.

Nicolas Otamendi -- 8.5

Ota looks so much better when he is alongside Kompany. The two seem to be our best partnership to date. Like Kompany, he made some very important tackles and was very crucial in the build up play in our possession. After a horror display in last season's derby with Marcus Rashford, i was worried the same might happen. Fortunately, it didn't. He made some very important tackles in one-on-one situations.

Aleksandar Kolarov -- 7

I don't have too much to say about Kolarov here, but wasn't very surprised he started. Clichy has been playing a lot of football and Kolarov has turned into Pep's most unused player outside of Fernando. He did fairly well in one-on-one situations, and offered Sane a little help going forward. He does have a threatening shot, and showed that a couple of times. Nonetheless, he didn't make a huge impact on the game. We definitely need new full-backs this next season.

Fernandinho -- 6

I wasn't totally surprised Fernandinho started tonight, but he picked up a knock last game and has played a lot of football. Unfortunately, he wasn't his best today. Along with Toure, he misplaced a ton of passes and lost out in tackles on a number of occasions. I hope it was just from fatigue.

Yaya Toure -- 7

While Toure didn't put in a terrible performance, he wasn't as consistent with his passing and as impactful as the game against Arsenal. I didn't really expect him to start tonight considering he played a full 120 minutes over the weekend, but apparently he has still got something in those legs of his. While he did begin to tire, he still played admirably well in his role at the base of City's midfield.

Raheem Sterling -- 4.5

This may be a bit harsh, but Sterling's weaknesses were really on display tonight. His final touch and finishing were terrible, and Darmian really took care of Sterling relatively easy. He did have a lovely one-two with Aguero, but other than that he wasn't the man he was like earlier in the season. I'm not totally worried, though; I'm sure he will bounce back in the remaining fixtures.

Kevin de Bruyne -- 8.5 (Man of the Match)

He's been criticized lately, a bit unfairly in my opinion. But tonight, he was definitely City's biggest attacking threat. He made something out of nothing on a number of occasions, including a cross to Aguero which he definitely should have finished. He was very unlucky to register an assist tonight.

Leroy Sane -- 5

Like Sterling, Sane's performance was unlike him. It may be due to his tiredness and partnering with Kolarov (who he hasn't played alongside with) but he looked quite sloppy out there. He showed glimpses of his speed and tenacity at times, but it lacked the final product. He also almost was the sole cause of a Herrera header goal -- what was he thinking? That was horrid man-marking. He also shrugged at his teammates after like it wasn't his fault... confusing, but i'm sure after some days of rest he will bounce back.

Sergio Aguero -- 7

Aguero missed a number of chances tonight but was consistently our main attacking threat alongside KDB. He should have finished the first chance from the cross from KDB, but unluckily hit the bar. He was always looking to get the ball and create chances, but unfortunately some of the players around him weren't up to the task. In a game that needed a spark or something really fantastic, Aguero wasn't ruthless in front of the United net like he usually would be. I think Aguero will also benefit from some days off (maybe a Gabi jesus start next game) with the coming days. Gabi Jesus' substitution provided the spark we needed in the final minutes. I feel he should have been subbed in earlier, partnering Sergio Aguero.
