Word has gone around that Jesus Navas is prepared for a return to his previous club Sevilla, and now the president of the Spanish side has confirmed interest in signing the 31-year-old.

José Castro stated that there are “some contacts” with the Spaniard and that he hopes for an advance in talks.

After the 2013/14 season, Navas’ impact at the Etihad was never the same. His debut season went well for him as he scored goals and assisted several more. After the Premier League title campaign, however, he became rather predictable and was easily shut down by opposition defenses.

Navas has often been criticized for his inability to beat the first man when crossing the ball, and this has given the supporters a sour taste in their mouths when they see his name in the starting lineup.

The winger’s contract will expire on June 30th, meaning that Manchester City will not profit from the move. This transfer will almost definitely happen as Jesús Navas has seemingly been keen on a return to his home for quite some time.
