Recently, a rumor has gone viral stating that Alexis Sanchez has decided that reuniting with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City is in his best interest. This has sparked mixed feelings among the fanbase, as many see this as the nail in the coffin for Sergio Aguero.
If Alexis were to sign for the club, City would have him, Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane, Agüero, Gabriel Jesus and Kelechi Iheanacho in the attackin front. The likes of Nolito and Patrick Roberts would see their time on the pitch become extremely limited as well. It is simply impossible to rotate the squad this much without causing a disruption in form or chemistry. It will almost certainly cause unrest among the attackers as well.
Agüero could be the favorite to leave should Sanchez sign. Sterling and Sané are far too young to be shipped out and Gabriel Jesus is the future. These youngsters require more time at the club to prove their worth and Pep Guardiola will not consider selling them. Agüero, however, has been rumored to be on his way out for quite some time. He has had a successful spell at City and could be moved on to make space for fresh signings.
Despite all of this, it is still unlikely that Alexis Sánchez will follow through with the move. Guardiola will see the selection headache it would cause and hopefully decide against chasing his signature.
