When the initial reports of Manchester City preparing a £50 million for Arsenal superstar Alexis Sánchez first came out, we didn't really believe it because City don't need a forward, Arsenal don't want to sell him and this didn't make a lot of sense.
But you know what? This may actually be really happening. The excellent Sam Lee of Goal.com reports that City are increasingly confident that the Chilean will be joining the club this summer, and Pep Guardiola has already made contact with his former player to convince him to leave Arsenal and move to the Etihad.
Better yet, Alexis himself has already made his mind up and wants to play for City. Manchester United and Chelsea also want the Chilean, but the player has decided that a move to the Sky Blues will be the best career decision for him.
Arsenal have to sell Alexis this summer as it seems like the player won't sign a new contract and he could leave for free in 2018. Always according to the report, Sánchez is Pep Guardiola's priority for the summer, and while the Catalan manager will focus on an overhaul of his defense in the upcoming transfer window, he also wants Alexis to join and boost the attacking options of his side.
So this may be really happening. Oh dear...
