For a sizable amount of time it has been reported that Manchester City’s new manager Pep Guardiola desires a reunion with Joshua Kimmich, whom he worked with during his time at Bayern Munich. Pep has displayed his admiration for the German previously, fueling the transfer rumors.

Kimmich has recently declared his frustrations with his current club due to a lack of playing time and City will consider pouncing on his signature.

“It does not matter whether I understand it or not. The fact is I’m not satisfied with it and I want to change it,” said the 22-year-old.

“The coach knows I can play as a number six, at right-back, also in the center of defense. From that he has so many options to use me.

“I know my weaknesses and work on them - especially when I am not playing, I try to do more. In the Bundesliga we have a good lead now and maybe [the team] will be rotated.”

Kimmich is certainly capable of playing in several positions, including right-back, central defense and even in the central midfield role, and he excelled in all of those working with Guardiola. He's extraordinarily versatile and has tremendous potential.

If the player remains unsettled and desires time on the pitch, this move is extremely likely. City’s manager favors Kimmich and would likely bring him to the Etihad in a heartbeat. This signing would be superbly helpful to the Sky Blues.
