Bacary Sagna’s future at Manchester City has been questioned for some time now, with Olympique Marseille and West Ham United reportedly interested in the Frenchman. His contract at the Etihad will end this summer, and unless the club makes a rather surprising decision and offers him a new deal, Sagna will become a free agent.

City fans have called for the signing of a couple of full-backs for several years now. These positions are the team's biggest weaknesses and definitely need improvement. According to rumors, Pep Guardiola sees Juventus’ Dani Alves as a short term option for the next few seasons. The two formed a wonderful relationship throughout their time at Barcelona and would undoubtedly work fantastic together at City.

This rumor will probably not become reality, though, as Guardiola has made it clear that he desires younger options within his squad. At the age of 33, Alves would not offer that youth factor.

Despite remaining one of the best in the world at his position, the chances Alves joining the Sky Blues are quite low. The likes of Fabinho of AS Monaco or possibly Tottenham Hotspur’s Kyle Walker would be better targets for City in the next transfer window.
