According to Spanish paper AS, Manchester City have recently passed Real Madrid in the race to sign Paulo Dybala.
Dybala, who signed for Juventus from Palermo in 2015, has been acclaimed as one of the world’s best upcoming talents, and he has proved it in less than two season with 24 goals in 47 appearances for the Old Lady. The Argentine is receiving attention from scouts across Europe, and the fight over his services will definitely be heated this summer.
City’s striker situation is currently in controversy, however. With the addition of Gabriel Jesus, Sergio Agüero has lost his spot in the starting lineup and is now a mainstay in transfer rumors. If it's difficult for a club legend like Agüero to start for City at the moment, imagine for Dybala.
These rumors are nothing new, though. City have been linked with Dybala since 2012, where they were said to be front runners when he still played in Argentina's second tier, but he chose to play for Palermo instead. Whether or not City come out on top this time, the Dybala Saga this summer will be very intense.
