According to recent news from French news source Le10 Sport, West Ham United have began to strike up talks with Manchester City’s Bacary Sagna. The 33-year-old is out of contract this summer, leaving him open to a free transfer to whichever club he desires to sign for. The Frenchman is the center of much attention from other European clubs, as Olympique Marseille and Everton are also reportedly interested in his services.

Pep Guardiola has made it clear that his side’s defensive line requires improvement. Multiple full-backs will surely arrive at the Etihad in the next transfer window while as many as four could be leaving.

Sagna has done well in his rather short spell at City, however, his legs will soon start to give as he's not getting any younger. It would not be heartbreaking to see Sagna depart the club in the summer. Change is certainly needed to take steps forward as a club.

The list of full-backs linked with a move to City include Danny Rose, Kyle Walker, José Gayà, João Cancelo, Juan Bernat and David Alaba. Supporters would be full of joy to witness any of these footballers pull on the Sky Blue shirt and replace Sagna and others, as it would lead to a turnaround in City’s defensive performances.
