Pep Guardiola was full of praise for his players after their record-breaking 15th consecutive win in the Premier League on Wednesday.

Manchester City cruised past Swansea City 4-0 to maintain their four-point lead at the top of the table.

Davis Silva was in sparkling form for the visitors scoring twice, with Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero also on target, leaving Guardiola delighted.

"In history there have been some amazing teams - Liverpool, [Manchester] United with Sir Alex Ferguson, Chelsea with Jose Mourinho," said the City boss.

"A lot of good, good teams and we are the first ones to win 15 games in a row. Of course that will not make sense if we do not win the title, if we don't win the title it will just be a record.

"This record will be broken but it will not be easy. When (my players) don't have the ball they go to win it like animals. At this level it's so competitive. That means we are strong in the head."

City’s win is a record in the Premier League, surpassing Arsenal’s previous best, a run of 14 games in 2002.

Guardiola will be hoping to extend that run, but Saturday brings a tough test with Tottenham the visitors to the Etihad Stadium.
