Manchester City veteran Yaya Touré has rejected a tempting big money offer from China in favor of his current club. Yaya recently escaped controversy with his agent to regain his spot in the starting eleven and the trust from manager Pep Guardiola. Since his return, he has been a standout figure in City’s faltering title challenge.
The 33-year-old is out of contract this summer and has not been guaranteed any future at City, however it appears probable that the Ivorian will be placed in the Champions League squad once again for the knockout stages in hopes of leading City to European success and earning a new contract next season.
To reject a £430,000-a-week offer proves that Touré is once again motivated to give his best effort in a Sky Blue shirt. Although he has earned love from the supporters once again, he may have to move on for younger talent. Guardiola is said to be worried about the age of his squad and keeping an eye out for youthful players.
No matter what comes of Yaya's future, we will forever thank him for the beautiful memories, maybe even from this season.
