Transfer rumors have constantly surrounded Manchester City’s Fabian Delph as the midfielder has not featured much since Pep Guardiola’s arrival. West Bromwich Albion emerged as the most likely destination for the Englishman, but it looks as though manager Pep Guardiola is keen on retaining Delph’s services due to the unfortunate injury crisis in midfield and the severe drop in form from his side.
The Sky Blues are not interested in a loan move for the 27-year-old either, as the manager has not seen enough of him because of a bad groin injury and wants to give him some chances to prove himself. West Brom manager Tony Pulis was locked in on Delph after losing Morgan Schneiderlin to Everton despite a club record bid.
Delph's fantastic energy in midfield is an attractive prospect and should win him more minutes on the pitch, if he could stay healthy. City could use some urgency and work rate, and Delph could inject this into his side. The midfielder has been put on the bench since regaining fitness but has not yet received a start, despite playing in the FA Cup win against West Ham United 10 days ago.
