Manchester City have been in dire need of a couple of fullbacks for quite some time. According to recent reports, Tottenham Hotspur duo Kyle Walker and Danny Rose could be City’s answer. Both players have been in fine form since last season, attracting attention from other top clubs, including Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United.
The two players also have recently signed five-year contracts, causing their transfer value to skyrocket. City will have to spend well over £30 million on each defender to strike a deal, a price that will not put a dent in their astronomically large funds. Rose is reportedly the main target for Pep Guardiola as his side’s most exploitable position on the pitch is the left back.
Both have ascended to amazing levels under Mauricio Pochettino, and they form arguably the best fullback pairing in the Premier League. They would deliver even greater pace down the wings and offer fantastic defensive ability. This is exactly what the Sky Blues need to step closer to Guardiola’s ideal side.
