The arrival of Pep Guardiola in the summer was a major rejuvenation for Manchester City, who were introduced to a fresh playing style, new signings, new philosophies and plenty of excitement.

For a few players who seemed out of the door at the club, Guardiola has helped them rediscover their form, and they've become very important pieces in City's perfect start to the season. Aleksandar Kolarov is one of those players, and he's playing perhaps his best football at City by changing positions from left-back to central defender. His performances there have been shockingly good, and the Serbian is one of the best surprises so far.

Kolarov spoke to the press ahead of City's Champions League match against Celtic FC, and Aleks praised Guardiola, previewed the opponents and spoke about City's perfect start. Here's a few quotes from Kola's presser:

Celtic preview and facing City players

“They are going to play with a lot of intensity and try to win the game. I saw the Barcelona game but it was strange.

“They are playing at home with amazing fans so we know what they are going to try to do tomorrow.

“Kolo [Toure] is an experienced player. Scott [Sinclair] didn’t play a lot at City but he is a great player. Patrick [Roberts] is a young guy and I know him as well. They are dominating here in Scotland.”

On City's perfect start

“At the moment everything is going well. We start well, we are playing in a good way and we’re happy about what is happening on the pitch. At the moment we are trying to improve so we will see at the end of the season what we achieve. We just have to stay focused and try to improve.”

On position change

“I didn’t think I was going to change position but Pep came here and changed me. I like it, I am enjoying being involved in the play but the season is very long.”
