2016 League Cup Draw, Results: Manchester City to face Swansea City in third round

The champs begin their title defense in Wales

Manchester City's road to defending the English Football League Cup title starts in Wales.

The Citizens have drawn Swansea City in the third round of the EFL Cup (formerly known as Carling Cup, Capital One Cup, Milk Cup!!!!!!, etc.), which is scheduled to be played on the week of September 19. The Sky Blues will travel to the Liberty Stadium to face Swansea in the League Cup just three days before traveling to the Liberty Stadium to face Swansea in the Premier League. That turned out to be a fun schedule thing!

Manchester City is the current winner of the League Cup, having won the competition last February in a thrilling penalty shootout against Liverpool at Wembley Stadium. They earned the right to enter the competition only in third round as one of the Premier League teams in European duty this season.

City vs Swansea is one of four Premier League matchups in the third round of the EFL Cup, along with Southampton vs Crystal Palace, Stoke City vs Hull City and Leicester City vs Chelsea. Here's the full result of the draw:
