Not long after announcing the signing of 20-year-old attacking midfielder Leroy Sané on Tuesday morning, Manchester City let us know the only thing left about the club's new player: his squad number.
The answer is finally here, and it's not a surprise at all:
Our Boy Leroy is getting Number 19 with his new club, which is not a surprise. Sané has always used that number throughout his (short) career at Schalke 04 and also in the youth national teams in Germany, and it is only natural that he continues to wear that number in his new club, given that no current City player has the #19 jersey.
Hopefully Sané can bring his amazing qualities along with his number from his Schalke days. Pep Guardiola is certainly delighted to have him in the team, and it shouldn't be long before Man City fans are also delighted to have him.
