Pep Guardiola is used to European success. He won two Champions League trophies at Barcelona, and reached the semifinals in all three seasons at Bayern Munich. Pep lives for the continental competitions, and while he loves the domestic success, it's the European challenge that really excites him.
Guardiola's first European challenge at Manchester City starts on Tuesday, as City face Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League Playoffs looking for a spot in the group stage. The two games against Steaua will affect the entire season, and Guardiola's first season depends entirely on success against the Romanian side.
After a winning debut against Sunderland in the Premier League, the Citizens now turn their attention to Europe, and the game against Steaua is the first step to improve last season's campaign, the club's best ever run in the Champions League. They have the team and the coach to do it. But they must get past Steaua, which won't be easy.
This promises to be a tough, yet fun match. Do not miss it.
