The newest signing of the Pep Guardiola Era is one of the hottest prospects on the market.
According to multiple reports in England and Brazil, Manchester City are closing in on a deal to sign Palmeiras attacker Gabriel Jesus, one of the most promising players in football. There are just a few details left before a deal is finalized and the player changes teams.
Gabriel Jesus burst onto the scene in 2015 as a 17-year-old kid with scoring ability, speed and great skills. It took a while for the youngster to find his rhythm, but once he did, Jesus exploded and became the best player in the Brazilian league despite being just 19 years old, and his 10 goals in 13 games earned him a call to the Brazil squad for the Olympics.
Jesus has already been linked with City, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Inter Milan and Manchester United, proving just how hot of a prospect he is. United and City have been battling for Jesus over the last few weeks, but a phone call from Pep Guardiola was enough to convince Jesus he had to play at City.
The Sky Blues and Jesus' current club, Palmeiras, are working on a £27 million deal, and the Brazilian would be loaned back to Palmeiras until December to finish the Brazilian league season, then joining the Citizens in 2017.
Jesus was asked in a press conference after training with the Olympics side about his future, and he said that he already knows where he's going, and that his future will be known in the upcoming days.
If the reports are accurate, his future is in Sky Blue colors.
