One of Germany's most exciting prospects will make the Manchester giants go to war.

According to reports in Germany, Manchester City and Manchester United are ready to submit a £40 million offer for Schalke 04 star Leroy Sané, one of the best young players in the Bundesliga. Sané exploded to the scene last season, and continued his rise with a great campaign this term.

City scouts have watched the 20-year-old all season, and were impressed with his continued development. The attacker can play literally anywhere on the offensive half of the pitch, and his speed and skills in one-on-one situations make him really difficult to defend. He's also a great passer with good vision, and his nine goals and six assists this season show his ability to score goals on his own and find teammates in scoring position.

Guardiola is a big fan of players like Sané, and he loves to develop young players. Douglas Costa and Kingsley Coman became stars under Pep at Bayern Munich, and they are similar to Sané in terms of speed, skills and wing play. Pair Sané with Raheem Sterling at City and watch Guardiola turn them into world-class wingers.

The problem is the United interest. As we've learned over the past few seasons, they can also pour a ridiculous amount of money into the squad, and they wouldn't mind outbidding City even if it means a massive overpay for Sané.

If the rumors are accurate, the two Manchester giants will fight over Sané. Hopefully he chooses the blue side.
