One of the breakout stars of the Premier League could be heading to Manchester City.
According to French newspaper L'Equipe, the Citizens have held two meetings with the agents of Leicester City midfielder N'Golo Kanté, one of the top performers in the Foxes' shocking Premier League championship run. The France international will play in Euro 2016, and has a number of different offers from England's biggest teams.
Arsenal and Chelsea have been strongly linked with the player in the past, and the Gunners appear to be leading the race for the £20 million engine. Arsene Wenger will strengthen his midfield next season, and after reaching a deal with Borussia Mönchengladbach star Granit Xhaka, the Arsenal manager is looking to sign Kanté to complete his midfield overhaul.
But City will not give up on the transfer, and club officials are confident they have a chance to overtake Wenger and complete the deal. Pep Guardiola is a fan of Kanté's work ethic and tackling abilities, and would love to have the player on his team. Kanté's personal wish is to join the Gunners, according to the L'Equipe report, but if the Citizens make a better salary offer, things can change.
