Manchester City made difficult work as they often do in these sorts of matches today against West Bromwich Albion. The visitors had multiple chances to equalize late on but couldn't find the back of the net. The victory ultimately sends the Blues to within two points of third-placed Arsenal with the two teams still facing a showdown versus one another in a few weeks time at the Etihad.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini had updates on Kun Aguero's injury and Samir Nasri's health and why he was left off the UEFA Champions League squad for the knockout stages.
On Aguero:
"Kun had just a kick - it's not a problem for Tuesday,"
On Nasri:
"We expected Samir would come back in the middle of April. We needed to play the Champions League in February and we had just Kun in that moment as a striker so it was important to put Kelechi in the squad."
"But I don't think Samir would be able to play in three days' time anyway with so long out. He will be an important player in the Premier League as we try to finish as near to the top of the table as possible."
The Blues will quickly move on to focus on Tuesday's big European second leg clash with PSG. For full coverage of that match visit Bitter & Blue the next few days!
