Manchester City defender Nicolas Otamendi is still confident in his team's chances in the two remaining competitions this season.

The Argentinean spoke after the 0-0 draw against Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal, and he spoke confidently about City's chances of knocking out Los Blancos at Santiago Bernabéu next week. Otamendi also talked about the team's focus in the Premier League, where the Sky Blues are still fighting for a top-four finish and a place in next season's Champions League.

Here's a rundown of Otamendi's quotes:

"There’s 90 minutes left. Hopefully we’ll do things right and get through to the final. Personally, being a defender, it’s important to not concede goals. We played a very smart game in the defensive line.

"Madrid have great players in every line. We have to defend well and then, obviously, to exploit our attacking power. Unfortunately, we couldn’t score but we are optimistic because the semi-final is open.

"The Premier League is a competition where anyone plays against you from peer to peer. There’s an intense pace. We play every three or four days and we can’t just give the league away. We have to achieve the aim, which is to get qualified for next season’s Champions League."
