Martín Demichelis will not stay at Manchester City, but he might still be in the Premier League next season.
The Argentinean defender will be out of a contract with the Citizens at the end of the current campaign as he is not on Pep Guardiola's plans for the upcoming years, and will be available to be signed on a free transfer in the summer transfer window.
And according to reports, Leicester City and Everton are interested in bringing in the 35-year-old this summer. Claudio Ranieri wants to add depth to his squad for the Foxes' Champions League run next season, and even though Leicester could win the Premier League with the current squad, the manager is aware of the importance of depth and wants the experienced Demichelis to serve as a reliable backup to Wes Morgan and Robert Huth.
Roberto Martínez is in danger of being sacked as Everton manager if he is unable to win the FA Cup, but if he stays with the Toffees next season, he will have to do it without talented center-back John Stones, who is set to leave the club in the summer. Martínez has listed Demichelis as one of his options to replace Stones, and if the Argentinean does not join the Foxes, he might go to the blue side of Liverpool.
One thing is certain: Demichelis will no longer be a Manchester City player.
