Manchester City made just one substitution in Wednesday's UEFA Champions League match in Kiev. The injury crisis that has decimated the Blues leaves the side with few viable options. Manager Manuel Pellegrini explained the situation in detail Wednesday night. Kelechi Iheanacho was the only substitute used by the Blues - he came on late for Sergio Aguero.
"Unfortunately for us, we have just 13 players fit - we had four defenders and two young players on the bench.
"It was important to have key players back but it's also important to have a squad which allows you to make some changes.
"It is difficult in this moment - especially in attack - but I hope in the next week, a couple of players will return."
"From tomorrow, we will think about the Capital One Cup final," he added. "It is very important to win a trophy."
"Then, when we finish the Capital One Cup, we must concentrate on the league. We have to fight for another 36 points."
