The Daily Mail is reporting that Mikel Arteta who has featured in just seven matches this season could be tempted to leave the Gunners and join Pep Guardiola's backroom staff next season at Manchester City. Arteta has played continuously in England since January 2005 and could be of great help to Guardiola as he attempts to acclimate to English football.

Arteta is in the process of acquiring his coaching badges and last year Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger said of Arteta potentially joining the Gunners staff

'He has to go through the youth system first, but I don't rule that out (that he could be on the coaching staff).
'At the moment I don't have a real need. Our average age is quite high on my staff. They are all good. I am happy with all my staff at the moment. But I think he can be a coach in the future yes and certainly here.'

For the time being though Arteta remains an Arsenal player.
