Skipper Steph Houghton recorded a brace and Izzy Christiansen added a goal as Manchester City defeated sister club Melbourne City in the Fatima Bint Mubarak Challenge. The match was played in Abu Dhabi at New York University. Manchester City Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak attended the match.

The Manchester City Women are in the middle of preseason preparations for the upcoming Women's Super League campaign as well as the UEFA Women's Champions League, which MCWFC has qualified for.

Prior to the match Raysa Al Ketbi, Operations Manager, Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy said:

"The FBMA challenge will be a fantastic occasion and a fitting way to bring a very successful training camp for both Manchester City Women's FC and Melbourne City Women's FC to an end.

"The opportunity for young girls to see a high paced football match with professional athletes competing at the top of their game will hopefully contribute to increased participation in this popular sport."
