23-year-old Schalke 04 full-back Sead Kolasinac has recently caught the attention of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola who could be looking to make an offer, according to reports in Germany.
Kolasinac, who is Bosnian, joined Schalke in 2012 and now features frequently in the first team. He has two goals and four assists in eight Bundesliga starts this season for the Royal Blues. His contract with Schalke is set to expire this summer, and City are expected to begin conversation with the club in January.
His potential arrival should provide much needed depth at the full-back position, as all of City’s first team full-backs are above the age of 30. However, his signature is sought after by Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool as well, so this transfer battle may turn into a rivalry in the winter transfer window.
Sport Bild, the German newspaper who originally reported the rumor, also reported a link with City and Kolasinac in early November, so it seems to be more serious than just speculation.
