Manchester City vs Celtic, 2016 Champions League: Referee Assignment

He's unknown. Not even his photo has a face.

The UEFA Champions League group stage finale match between Manchester City and Celtic on Tuesday doesn't really matter, so that's how UEFA looked at it and decided to give us a referee we've never heard about.

Slavko Vincic from Slovenia will be in charge of a UEFA Champions League group stage match for the first time in his career, and it will be at the big stage of the Etihad Stadium, with Pep Guardiola on the sidelines and a few big names on the pitch. So this is a pretty huge debut for the referee himself!

Vincic has been in England before, officiating a Europa League match at Anfield, and Liverpool drew 1-1 with Sion with Vincic showing just two yellow cards. The Slovenian is not a fan of bookings (3.43 yellow cards/game career average), and since City and Celtic won't really play that hard, we should have a pretty easy match for mister Slavko.

I'm not a fan of referees making their Champions League debut in a match involving our favorite team, but that's who UEFA gave us. Good luck, Vincic!
