Manchester City are battling Italian giants Juventus for the signature of Sevilla’s Steven N’Zonzi, according to reliable journalist Alfredo Pedulla.
Since moving to Spain from Stoke City, N'Zonzi has been in top form. He is able to dominate the midfield while maintaining a phenomenally high pass success rate at 90%. The 28-year-old’s playing style can be compared to that of Yaya Touré and could be a fantastic addition to City’s midfield.
Sevilla’s current manager, Jorge Sampaoli, boasts a similar tactical style to Pep Guardiola. This, along with his Premier League experience, could help N’Zonzi slip right into the Sky Blues side with no troubles.
Juventus are looking to close the deal quickly for the midfielder despite interest in Zenit St-Petersburg’s Axel Witsel. Another contender for Steven’s signature is English rivals Chelsea, however, Guardiola’s side would likely be the favorite to land the signing.
Only time will tell if Pep Guardiola is truly interested in luring Steven N’Zonzi to the Etihad. If he is, his could be an exceptionally impactful pickup.
