Manchester City return to action after a sensational Champions League win over Barcelona on Tuesday, but now the focus must turn back to the last game before the international break, and this is a tough test: Middlesbrough come to Etihad Stadium look to shock the Citizens and maintain their strong start to the Premier League campaign.

City played spectacular football against Barça, but on Saturday Pep Guardiola might have to cope with the absence of one of the best players in Tuesday's match: Fernandinho. The Brazilian picked up a knock and had to be replaced by Fernando in the second half against the Blaugrana, and Dinho might have to sit out of this game as well. He will probably travel to Brazil for their World Cup Qualifiers, but the minor injury may only make him fit enough for the bench against Boro.

Another midfielder missing is Fabian Delph, who's yet to recover from a hip injury. Bacary Sagna misses his last match through injury, as he's expected to return from his hamstring problem after the international break. Pablo Zabaleta played 90 minutes against Barça despite not being a 100% fit, but he had a few days of rest and will probably be fit to start on Saturday.

Boro misses an important player in Gastón Ramírez, but he could be the only absence in Aitor Karanka's side. This is the full list of injuries and suspensions for this weekend's match:
