The Champions League is back! For Manchester City, returning to European action could not have come soon enough following that magical night at Etihad where City dominated and beat Barcelona with authority. That game will be in City fans' memories for a while, and it should be.
As great as that win was, though, the job is not done for the Citizens. Two more points are needed in the final two games of the group stage to guarantee a place in the knockout stages, and three points against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Wednesday night in Germany will qualify the Sky Blues before the group stage finale against Celtic. To avoid any problems against the Scottish Champions, City have to beat Gladbach, qualify and focus on the Premier League until the Round of 16 comes around next year.
Beating Gladbach is easier said than done, however. Despite losing 4-0 to City in England in their first game in Group C, the Germans are a completely different monster when playing at the spectacular atmosphere of Borussia-Park. Pep Guardiola doesn't have a good record against Gladbach since his Bayern Munich days, and it will not be comfortable for City, but they're more than capable of picking up a big European win. After all, they beat Barcelona, and that's one of the biggest European wins you can get.
This will be a fantastic football match, one you should definitely not miss.
