Joe Hart, John Stones and Gundogan all win in productive international Saturday for Manchester City

Well done, boys!

Manchester City players did a very good job while on international duty on Saturday.

First, Joe Hart and John Stones started for England, who kicked off the Caretaker Gareth Southgate Era in English football with a 2-0 win over Malta. The Three Lions created many chances and forced a whole lot of saves out of the opposing goalkeeper, but this wasn't as exciting as Southgate would probably have hoped.

Still, England were pretty dominant for 90 minutes, and while they could have gotten a few more goals to get Wembley Stadium excited, England needed a win and that's what they got. The next opponents aren't as easy as Malta, so this was a good warm-up to face Slovenia on Tuesday, with Scotland and Spain waiting in November.

One team that looks as strong as ever is Germany, who played beautiful football en route to a very dominant 3-0 victory against the Czech Republic, who had no answers for the German's performance. The midfielders ran the show, with Mesut Özil and Julian Draxler putting on amazing games. Thomas Müller scored two goals, and Man City's Ilkay Gundogan made his first appearance for Germany in over a year and looked confident, composed and just as good as he has been for Guardiola.

Good Saturday work, Citizens!
