Vincent Kompany not ready for Manchester City return - yet

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is not yet ready to make his return, as he is "not mentally prepared" according to manager Pep Guardiola.

After two years of bad luck with form and injuries, the Belgian is understandably a bit nervous. Since his muscle problems recurred several times, most of which on his returning appearances, Vincent will be in no rush to be back on the pitch. The physios must take good care of the City captain, as he is a wonderful leader and always plays an integral part in keeping the defense in line.

It was rumored that Kompany could be on his way out of the club, however, Guardiola was quick to dismiss this in his pre-match press conference:

Any fans who were worried about his possible exit will be relieved by these quotes. All he needs is a bit of time to get back into the starting eleven, and then he will be crucial to Guardiola’s defensive line.
