Personal Impressions of Leroy Sané

Multiple published reports have linked Leroy Sané, the young Schalke star with Manchester City. In late November I attended Bayer Leverkusen vs Schalke 04 at the Bay Arena in Leverksuen. My impressions that evening in a 1-1 draw were that Leroy Sané was the best player on the pitch for either side and was a likely star for the German National Team in waiting.

Sané buzzed around the pitch that day linking up with the attacking players well particularly on counter-attacks whilalso maintaining good positioning on the defensive side of the ball. His work rate was immense and off the ball he made all the right runs.

The player has been fast-tracked into Germany's National Team having been called in for duty during the November International break. Unfortunately Sané made his debut against France on a tragic day in Paris and Germany's next match vs the Netherlands was cancelled amid security concerns.

But Sané remains a possibility for the Euro 2016 squad this summer.

This weekend, I will be attending the Schalke friendly in Orlando versus the Fort Lauderdale Strikers of the US' Second Division(The Bundesliga is on winter break and Schalke has come to Florida for training and friendlies). In that match I will be keeping an even closer eye Sané and will of course report my impressions here on Bitter and Blue.
