For the first time this season, Manchester City dropped points in a competitive match away from the Etihad Stadium saturday afternoon. The 4-1 thrashing against Spurs saw the Blues control the first 40 minutes but then come undone due to some officiating errors, defensive lapses and some brilliant play from the opposition.
After the match City Manager Manuel Pellegrini commented on the match:
We didn't play very well against West Ham in the first half, we didn't play well here in the second half," he said after game.
"The Premier League is always very difficult, that's why when we won the first five games we didn't talk about winning the league.
"We must continue working, trying to play the way we did in the first 45 minutes. I think we played really well today and in the future we must play every game as a final."
On Yaya Toure's injury (which forced him to be withdrawn after 55 minutes):
"Yaya has having some problems with his hamstring so he couldn't continue,"
"We will see in the way he improves during the week for the Champions League game."
