Here we explore the potential starting XI that Pellegrini might deploy against the Hammers on Saturday afternoon.

After a disappointing loss to Juventus during the week in the Champions League, City will look to put their loss behind them and continue their fantastic league form when they host West Ham on Saturday at the Etihad. With the news of Vincent Kompany being ruled out due to a calf injury he suffered against Juventus, per ESPNFC.com, it looks like Argentine defender Nicolas Otamendi will be making his Premier League debut against West Ham, per Yahoo News. The Argentine made his City debut on Tuesday after replacing Kompany in the 75th minute.

With the news of the return of Sergio Aguero, City will be looking to add to the firepower that they lacked against Crystal Palace and against Juventus. In his place were Wilfried Bony, who has not been effective for Manchester City this season, and Kelechi Iheanacho, who salvaged a 90 minute winner against Crystal Palace in the most recent match day.

With Fabian Delph out with a hamstring issue, Gael Clichy with an ankle injury, Pablo Zabaleta not yet healed from his knee injury and Samir Nasri out after sustaining an injury against Juventus, City will be shorthanded in players for the upcoming match up.

Based on some comments made by Manuel Pellegrini ahead of Saturday's match in regards to City's defense, it looks likely that Nicolas Otamendi will be paired with fellow Argentine defender, Martin Demichelis, per ManchesterCity.com.

With all the injuries mentioned, this is my potential starting XI for Saturday's encounter against the Hammers:

Hart; Kolarov, Otamendi, Demichelis, Sagna; Yaya Toure, Fernandinho; Sterling, Silva, De Bruyne, Aguero
