Poll: Should Jason Denayer Start the Opener vs West Brom?

Should City's Belgian starlet start the season opener vs West Brom?

Jason Denayer had an outstanding preseason following up on his impressive season on loan at Celtic. Considering Manchester City's deficiencies at the back which were exposed at critical times last season, and the failure of the club to secure a big-name defensive signing, perhaps this is Denayer's time. Martin Demichelis, the Blues best central defender last season returned late to the club thanks to Argentina's run to the Copa American final. Question marks remain over Eliaquim Mangala and Club Captain Vincent Kompany has fallen off in his form as injuries have taken a toll on him.

The Blues have been pulled apart repeatedly in preseason friendlies with Denayer looking the most capable and consistent City defender despite being only 20 years-old. What Denayer lacks in experience he seemingly makes up for in how he reads the game and the movement taking place in front of him.

So should Denayer be given a shot to start the season opener?
