Per the official MCFC website "Edin Dzeko has joined Roma on a season-long deal with a view to a permanent transfer if certain conditions are met."

According to BBC SporRoma paid an initial £2.9m loan fee, with £7.9m due if the move is made permanent after the season. This number falls well short of MCFC's valuation for the player but still serves to get Dzeko's salary off the books for purposes of UEFA Financial Fair Play (FFP).

Dzeko who played a critical role in both of Manchester City's Premier League titles said "I came here to win titles with Roma." "I can only promise one thing and that is that I will give my best for this club in every game.

Dzeko scored just six times in 32 Premier League matches last season, a terrible drop-off from previous seasons. In each of Dzeko's previous three seasons with the club he had scored at least 14 times in the league and led the Blues in goals during the 2012-13 season.
