James McCarthy on Manchester City's Radar?

Having been spurned by Fabian Delph, Manchester City's attempts to find a homegrown central midfielder may have shifted to Everton's James McCarthy per a story in Goal.com. On Sunday, The Mirror reported that McCarthy was a target for Spurs.

McCarthy is a box-to-box midfielder that fits a need for the club. Manchester City are in a race to secure more homegrown senior players with only Joe Hart, Gaël Clichy, Richard Wright and new signing Raheem Sterling fitting the homegrown label.
